Artist's Description
Digitally "painted" succulent commonly known as Hen and Chicks.
The name for a group of small succulent plants, a term that means juicy plant. They are members of the Sempervivum group of succulent plants.
So called because of the rosette shape and habit of the plant to produce numerous babies.
What is unusual is that they are cold hardy and drought tolerant succulents. They have many different textures and forms: from velvety, wooly, and satin, to fringed, tufted, and spidery webs
About Rebecca Langen
I am originally from Madeira,Ohio. Currently I live outside of Custer, South Dakota in the middle of cattle country. The beautiful Black Hills are my playground and inspiration. Living here I have an endless supply of forest to play in, along with all the amazing animals and old barns to photograph. I grew up as an Air Force brat and traveled the world with my parents experiencing life. We spent countless hours exploring castles, art galleries and every church and monument we could find! I love taking my photographs and turning them into digital art. I hope you enjoy my art as much as I do! -----------All artworks and photographs are copyrighted and owned by Rebecca Langen.
